Stake Youth activity cancelled for Pulaski Park!!!!!! 8/29

We have been watching the storm track for the latest Atlantic storm coming North and while it appears the center of the storm will stay off-shore, the latest forecast on Saturday ranges from 80 to 100% precipitation throughout the day with gusty winds, 15 to 30 mph. I am cancelling the planned youth activity, scheduled for Pulaski park / lake for Saturday afternoon. There will be no make-up for this activity. Please get the word out to your youth leaders and youth.

As a reminder, we have our EFY day the following Saturday, Sep 5, up in the Bloomfield building, Hartford stake. Last year's event was well worth the drive - hope to see the youth (14 and up) of the stake at next week's event - best wishes,

Brother Hutchins

Warwick Youth win again for the 3rd year in a row!

Once again the youth of the Warwick Ward have won our 3rd straight volleyball tourney at the stake center in Groton yesterday. Although officially there was no winner to be declared this year, our YM/YW won all of our games and finished in the final game.  Our team had so many players this year that we were able to split the sqaud into two groups and fill in for other teams that could not participate.

Congrats to all of our youth for a great showing, dedication and participation for this season's outing at CT.

Draper UT Temple opens to media and public (1/15/09)

Media video preview of Draper UT Temple

DRAPER — The new Draper Temple of the LDS Church is unlike any other temple along the Wasatch Front. That's because it is smaller, has its own design, features some unique artwork, lacks a patron cafeteria and has no clothing rental facilities. A contingent of more than three dozen media members took a 90-minute tour of the new temple Friday. The general public can tour temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, until they are dedicated.
Public open houses of the Draper Temple begin Jan. 15 and go through March 14. The temple will be dedicated March 20-22. Nestled in Corner Canyon in the southeast foothills of the Salt Lake Valley at 14065 S. Canyon Vista Lane, this temple (and the Oquirrh Temple now under construction in South Jordan's Daybreak community) will ease pressure on the Jordan River Utah Temple. It will serve approximately 60,000 church members in the Draper area. This will be the 129th operating temple in the world, the 12th in Utah and the third in Salt Lake County.

A Brand New Year website for LDS Youth

A new youth-oriented Web site, www.ABrandNewYear.lds.org, was launched January 1, with music, video, testimonies, and other features from the Brand New Year youth celebration DVD. Youth, parents, and leaders are invited to enjoy the resources on this Web site. It's very slick and has lots of youth content to use, learn and grow.
